This charming medieval village is one of the favorite Alsatian villages and is definitely worth a visit! It is classified among the most beautiful villages of France and it was favorite village for the French in 2013. Picturesque and flowered, come and lose yourself in its alleys while admiring its typical half-timbered houses and its multiple fountains. Supported in gentle hills planted with vineyards, village wraps in concentric circles under the watchful eye of its castle, the Château Bas d'Eguisheim. True cradle of the Alsatian vineyard, lovers of great wines, Oenologists apprentices or simply lovers of the good things, must absolutely go there and venture on the Route des Grands Vins d'Alsace! The latter is the oldest French Wine Route and spans more than 170 km and 76 communes. Do not hesitate and go knock on the door of one of the 300 wineries in the course. Eichberg or Pfersigberg, 49 of the 51 grands crus Alsatian answer this call along the route.
