Bargemon is a beautiful medieval village situated on a hill side, with remains of a town wall and town gates from the 10th century. The name Bargemon is believed to be of Celtic origin. Just like the Norsemen, the Celts worshiped certain trees and sources, and Bargemon indeed has an old source. The water there is so good that people come all the way from Nice to fill their bottles! Also the regular faucet water is good in Bargemon. South of Bargemon is the Côte d'Azur, and above Bargemon, in the mountains cape North of the village, you find Europe's only canyon landscape, the magnificent Gorges du Verdon.
