Reviews about the Advert 1776
Advert details 1776
Far from the noise, the crowd and the summer heat above the valley floor. This cosy apartment is part of a charming chalet, fully renovated, in the Italian Alps, and its style offers authenticity and calm. It retains the warm feel of the home of a mountain guide that it once was. It is located at an altitude of 1735 m in the historical heart of the traditional alpine hamlet of Vens. It is an old, charming, elegant building from the first half of the XVIII century. The ancient hamlet, with its stone paved walkways, is situated in a quiet and sunny spot at the edge of the woods, offering an unimpeded breathtaking panoramic view of the surrounding summits, some of the most popular peaks in the Aosta Valley, and the entire valley. This rural location is the ideal solution for a family holiday who would also enjoy walking from the cottage towards the enchanting lakes, to the nearby preserved nature, to a mountain shelter or to a neighboring valley.

An international tourist hiking and nature route, the Alpine Way R117 “Col du Grand-Saint-Bernard - Cérellaz”, passes through the hamlet and runs throughout the Alps mainly on paths and tracks at various altitudes. And which in one of its variants – the blue itinerary – descend Avise and Saint-Nicolas and continues on to High Path number 1, an excursion which runs at high altitude across the foothills of some of the highest peaks in Europe such as Monte Rosa, the Matterhorn and Mont Blanc. Lovers of gastronomic specialties can try the hamlet's local restaurant where there's a wide assortment of regional wines from the Aosta Valley, specialities and local products.

The hamlet of Vens is located two and a half hours from the cities of Geneva and Milan. Take the A5 motorway (which connects Turin, Milan and the Aosta Valley to France through the Mont Blanc tunnel). Take the exit to Aosta west. Turn right, follow the S26, for 3 km, then head towards Saint-Pierre. Turn right towards Saint-Nicolas. At the crossroads, turn left towards Vens.
