Our accommodation is a corner of our farm. We produce organic milk from an old breed of Viking cows, called Vestlandsk Fjordfé. Your place is also part of a mythological park under development, see Mytologifestivalen! The little house is a traditional timber house, like many Norwegian grew up in, if we go back some hundred years. In those times it was not abnormal such a house could be home for a family of 10. The facilities is not luxury, but it has got a soul. As hosts, we will try to give practical help where we can and where it is needed.

Hatlestrand is the name of a rural district/village. It belongs to Kvinnherad kommune. The region is famous for Folgefonna glacier, the Hardanger fiord, a National mountain park, Baroniet Rosendal and some smaler museums. In business Kvinnherad is famous for aluminium production at Hydro Husnes, Harding Safety and Norsafe life boat productions and salmon production. Our local district, which is mostly wide forest land, has got remains from very old mining. It began with soap stone, later from 1642, it was copper, iron, sulfur and even gold!

From Bergen you need 2 hours to reach. Best way is via Eikelandsosen and Mundheim. - From Haugesund, 2 hours via Stord. Use ferry between Jektevik and Hodnanes! From Oslo, one day car trip, one way goes over Hardangervidda to Eidfjord. After crossing the bridge, you follow the fiord for 2 hours. If you come more from south, drive via Odda, under the glacier, through the tunnel. Look for ferry from Årsnes to Gjermundshamn. Call us!
