The Cottage is a recently restored, with, on the first floor, two large bedrooms containing king-size beds, a dressing room and a shower room. On the ground floor, there is a good-sized sitting room with woodburner in an attractive large bressumer fireplace, again a good-sized kitchen with a Rangemaster gas cooker and an American side-by-side fridge freezer with ice and water dispenser, and a separate dining/reading room, plus a downstairs toilet/laundry room. The cottage has full central heating and Sky Plus TV., dvd player and music centre. Wireless internet is available. Outside there is a vine-covered pergola, a summer house, decking and paved area, raised shrubberies, a suite of comfortable cane furniture, barbecue and table and chairs for outdoor living. 15 minutes' walk away is the village of Trunch, with shop/post office and an excellent pub, the Crown, which offers a range of guest beers and bar snacks.
There are many very good dog-walking areas, such as Pigney Woods, a nature reserve (dogs on lead in bird breeding season), Bacton Woods, Weavers Way (along the disused railway line, passing through glorious countryside and lakes), cliff-top walks, overlooking the sea, or just walking the local backroads; for example a mile from our gate to Trunch, which boasts a very good pub with 4 guest ales and a choice of bar snacks (I recommend the sirloin steak!). 20 minutes’ drive away are the Norfolk Broads, where I keep a 27ft cruiser which may be available. Less than a mile away, is 9-hole Mundesley golf course, which welcomes guests. I might come round with you (14 handicap). Royal Cromer, 8 miles away, and Sheringham, 12 miles away, also offer guest facilities. Many other courses lie within 30 miles of the cottage. Or, for freshwater anglers, there are a number of local fisheries, with specimen carp and tench.. Two are within half a mile.
Mundesley is 22 miles north of Norwich, on the Norfolk coast. A traditional family holiday destination, it has clean beaches, three restaurants/pubs, post office, butcher, chemist, greengrocer, bakery, four cafes, a fish and chip shop/burger take-away.
