We are in a peaceful position surrounded by forest and vines, but within easy reach of Bordeaux, St Emilion and Cognac - for the wine lover and Royan and Arcachon - for the beaches. The local village has a baker, grocer, butcher and bar. Less than 10 minutes from the property is the village of St Savin, where you will find a supermarket, bank, post office, pharmacy, doctor and hairdresser. The nearest town is Blaye which is situated on the Gironde estuary. It has the famous citadel, hypermarket, numerous restaurants and a daily car ferry to the Médoc. In the heart of one of France's main wine producing regions there are literally hundreds of local châteaux, the nearest being 1km away. Bordeaux is less than an hour's drive and is well worth a visit. There is something for everyone, from designer shops to historic buildings, parks and restaurants.
