Village of les Baux-de-Provence perched on his Eagle's nest, it is a wonderful fortified village. Among the buildings to see: the old town hall and its Museum of the santons, and piglet Hall which houses the Museum Yves Brayer. The extended extensive Camargue surveyed by the herds of black bulls, the slender silhouettes of flamingos, the white horses to gallop: the Camargue form a unique universe. Created in 1927 as a National Reserve. The archaeological and historical Pont du Gard with its bronze stones, the lightness of its structure, the framework of green hills and the green waters of the Gardon, this grandiose work of the 1st century is a wonderful spectacle. It reflects another 50 km of aqueduct carrying water collected near the sources of Uzès to Nîmes. Every day, nearly 20,000 m3 of water is carried towards the Roman city. Arènes de Nîmes the best preserved of the Roman world (end of &st century, beginning of the 2nd), 133 m x 101 m, could contain 24 000 spectators. With two levels outside of 60 arches each (height 21 m) crowned in an attic. They were transformed into a fortress by the Visigoths, and then became a village which had still 700 inhabitants in the 18 th century. The change began in 1809, prelude to the restoration of the building which then found its primary vocation.
